Shot Playground and Recreation Center offers residents in the Queen Village and Pennsport areas a great place to play with its playground, ball field and other activities. This tower, America's first shot tower, built in 1808, revolutionized the making of musket balls based on the principle that molten lead will form perfect round balls when poured from a high place. The tower produced ammunition during the War of 1812 and the Civil War and was operational until 1903.
Programs include after school programming, basketball for girls and boys, seasonal day camps, checkers club, soccer and Tai Chi.
