Louis I. Kahn Memorial Park

390 S 11th St
Philadelphia, PA 19107

kahnpark.tripod.com/

On less than one acre of land, Kahn Park is the only park-like open space between Washington Square and Broad Streets. The Park is on the site of the old Greystone Luxury Hotel. When the hotel was demolished, a "low-maintenance" park (termed "Concrete Park") was built in its stead. In a tribute to Louis Kahn, this park was entirely re-built into an early rendition of the current design. Annual events include a summer concert series, park garden tours and an antique and craft fair in the fall. Volunteers work to maintain the trees, gardens and the park infrastructure.
